We all have the one spot in the office where promotional goods just keep on piling up. We bought the perfect swag for marketing events and yet we still have so much leftover. As each event passes, the items just keep piling up. Obviously, it is not efficient nor environmentally friendly to just throw away the STUFF, so let’s help our companies and our planet by donating and reusing promotional items.  

Where to Donate Promotional Goods

To us, our promotional goods may be currently just stuff taking up space, but to someone else they can be treasure. Have you been curious on where you can donate your promo items? Check in with your local non profits and see if they are looking for promotional goods to add to their next fundraising event. Non profits such as Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics, and local non profits rely on donations and volunteers to make their mission possible. They are always looking for companies to donate goods for their next event. Reach out to your local non profit to see if there’s an event where they need local businesses’ promo goods.

Another great place to donate would be schools. A lot of times, prizes, toys, crayons and much more comes straight out of the teachers’ pockets. Extend a helping hand by reaching out to your teacher friend or local school to see if your promotional goods would be great for their classrooms. If your promotional goods consist of apparel like t-shirts, hats or hoodies, consider donating to your local Goodwill, thrift shop, or local community outreach program that excepts clothing donations. They would be happy to take it off your hands!

Think about Reusing

Promotional goods are excellent for a lot of different reasons. Instead of purchasing new items, reuse your items for your next marketing event. Think about other reasons or circumstances you can hand out your giveaways such as for new client gifts, employee appreciation gifts, tradeshows, open houses, and local community events. Get creative on reusing the promotional goods taking space in your office instead of adding onto the mess. Of course, there are times where specific goods are needed for certain events, but not always. There are many times where we can reuse what we already have and stay not only budget friendly but environmentally friendly as well.
